Worked for IBM global services, on many global SAP projects (C&W worldwide implementation, (UK, Europe, USA, Panama & Carib, Japan), concentrated on CO module, CO-CCA, CO-PA, EC-PCA, some BW, some FI, Boots healthcare International, nottingham and Reinbeck germany just near hamburg, Nokia, Shire Pharma (BW prototype, Smith & Nephew consumer products (simple brand products, Biersdorf (nivea brand)) etc etc).

Prior to that HQ finance mgr, commercial finance mgr.

CIMA qualified, SEM certified consultant, degree in business.

    Pretty good dream overall.

Mentioning Boots and finance in the same paragraph is asking for trouble.

Mentioning SAP is like slapping a islamic extremist in the face with a bacon chop. The rest of the IT industry has no respect for you. However you do place higher than DBAs.

Wasn't to fussed about IT street cred. SAP paid the best especially in the late 1990's. Most business simply re-implemented the sh.. they already had in a different format whatever I told them anyway. Result was they never re-engineered the business properly and the results were often hardly a leap forward. Often I'd have to sit with the ABAP programmers having to churn out cr.. that fulfilled a report or function requirement the old system did, because Doris the 85 year old accounts payable clerk had done it that way for the last 60 years. Wouldn't matter if it was SAP, or whatever, most folk in businesses can't see the wood for the trees in major systems implementations.

Boots retail and boots healthcare were/are seperate, BHI makes products such as strepsils (or did) etc.

Haven't been in SAP or finance since 2003.

As I have stated on this thread many times, (but some posters don't like factual information when the answer does not comply with there views, believing it to be either a dream or bragging).

I do as I please. I have done up a few properties, my current main residence, for example, was bought derilict 4 storey townhouse, and I did it up, I have some rental flats, again I did them up from poor condition, which are located a few doors down from me in another victorian townhouse.

Apart from my kids school fees, I have minimal expenses, I don't require a rangerover, just a simple astra gets me to where I need to go, so I just get by, going to gym, mtn biking, piano, guitar, video games, arguing on mse, whatever takes my fancy really.

Got some thoughts about expanding my BTLs but believe there will be a 12% fall this year, so in no rush to risk my established position with something stupid.

Conrad, I'm bearish, but I like what you just typed. Well said sir.

A few forum members would do well to take note of what Conrad typed. I think we know who I am referring to.

I`m bearish too as my name suggests and I know what you are referring to.

I had a wonderfull day yesterday after a 6 weeks of hectic work, i had to do a lot of driving and snagging problems with a few of my customers. Driving around the Suffolk and North Essex countryside in what was like a wonderfull spring day.

My only problem was leaving the radio on BBC Five Live and taken too much notice of the news when i did listen to the music channels.
Yesterday i heard more of the damage that spending cuts will cause, and i became a little angry.

There was me driving around these wonderfull villages that i have know so well over the years, only to witness great village pubs that have been open since i could walk, also they were there in my parents and grandparents younger days, now boarded up.

People sometimes blame cheap tescos booze, and it is partly to blame. But the biggest obstacle to many landlord/ladys is the crippling rents/rates on these now expensive propertys.

Back to the radio, and then i hear about swimming pools closing down, libary's closing, these are wonderfull places for so many reasons.
And to top it all off we have nearly all public lavertory's in some big citys being closed down, WE ARE GOING BACKWARDS AS A CIVILISED NATION:mad:, what do we all do now, p*** in the street.

And then again on the Radio i hear news about the tiny tax that banks must now pay, Ohhh, and they are ever so angry you know, yeah right!!
But then this idiot come on to talk about the economy and the fact that nasty banks will not lend and that they MUST, he must have said that ftb's MUST be loaned money again about a half a dozen times at least, " it's for the good of the economy" he said.

Well i run my own business, and i don't need no borrowed money and don't want any borrowed money, who is this bloke trying to kid, along with millions of others it's all about saving over indebted idiots that never planned for the future. I also cannot afford the home i deserve(yes i said it) for what i do and for what i plough into the economy. And before anyone has anything to say about that remark(and i know they will) i would be happy with an average type of house as a bloke that is in the top 15% of tax payers.

We cannot keep essential and good services open because we have to keep high house prices up, and we all know thats what it is all about, WE ARE GOING BACKWARDS FOR F*** SAKE.

Let the property market crash, let things find their own level, and once they do we can dust ourselves down and make create decent place to live. Maybe if not all our resources as individuals were going into crappy property we might be able to solve half of our problems as a nation one being having somewhere to !!!! when we leave home.

WHEN ARE GOING TO STOP LETTING THE OVERDEBTED EFFECT ALL OUR LIVES:mad:

    Fox

I don't even know where to start with that!

    1. Pubs close because not enough people frequent them - simple.

    2. City Centre public loos being shut. So what? There are toilets in every single pub, restaurant, shopping centre, most cafes and so on.

    3. You run a business and don't want to borrow money? How do you grow your business then? How will you afford to buy those new premises you need? Or to pay for those 2 extra sales people? I guess you could re-invest profit, but that will take many years and by that time your competitors will have taken a loan and beaten you to it.

    4. You can't afford the home you deserve? I have never heard so much rubbish. You may not be able to afford the home you want, but that is entirely different. And what has income percentiles got to do with it? Many people will buy homes with inheritance, windfalls, bonuses and so on as well as their main income. I'm sorry but everyone lives in the home they deserve as they chose to live there.
