Wow, great rate. Dont understand you rejecting this.0

I applied for a Loan today for £14,950 from Sainsburys this was for a car and I was approved but at 8.2% not their headline rate of 7.2%
I was told this was to do with my circumstances,
I found this odd as I paid off all debts other than my mortgage in December last year. ( I was paying £200 per month off a Balance Transfer)
With the repayments of around £300 I would be left with another £400+ per month based on my current income and outgoings.
So why do I not qualify for the Advertised Headline rate?
Me being me basically think your taking the pi*s or your winding everyone up coming on here complaining about 1%, and why you didn't get the advertised rate, think yourself blo0dy lucky, there are people with excellent credit reports on here who have high debt and get interest hiked anything up to 15%.
If you don't like the loan they offered you then try someone else.0 -
Got to agree with Star-Fire's assessment.
8.2% is a quality rate in today's market. If you believe the 999 number is important (after all, you did pay for the service so you must value it) then try borrowing the money from Experian.
I would suggest that the extra credit search on your file will mean that every other lender offers you a rate higher than 8.2%.
Good luck

The rate is still competitive. My advise is either accept or go somewhere else.
They obviously do not consider you such a good risk and this has been reflected in the rate offered.
I think also your pride has been hurt and I suggest you do not take it so seriously and get over it.
At least they did not decline you. Then if that had happened you would have reason for throwing your toys of your pram.0 -
The 999 would only be a definitive score if Experian were lending the money IMHO..0
