Dream Dinners - Opinions sought

I have been reading lots about 'fix & freeze' - shops in America where you book a slot and go and assemble loads of meals for your freezer - lasagnes, bakes etc, and some brilliant mixes that you defrost, then simply chuck into the slow cooker for 8 hours without doing anything more.(a beef strogonoff was one)

I do freeze quite a bit, but find reheating casseroles a pain. These sound good because you are freezing the assembled dish, then cooking when you need it.

So, I've tried to search for recipes that this would work for, without success.

I've also seen on Amazon - 'Dream Dinners - Assemble & Freeze' which sounds what I need. However I would be really interested if anyone has seen/used it before I buy yet another cookery book!

(The reason for all this is I have a few months of madness coming up, and the idea of getting a fresh meal out, putting in the oven appeals)

Sorry so long, I would be very interested in opinions, suggestions. . .

  • I do this with pies, and lasagne, stews, soups.

I also think you could do spag bol... because pasta will freeze.

I do it with chilli and curries (freeze the sauce and rice seperate)!

I don;t think you need a book... just any meal can be made and frozen!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!
