Probably no change but I voted for a 0.25% increase, as they may test the water this time round.

I'd be happpy for them to stay at 0.5% indefinetly as my btl's are at 1.65% above base.

Never a better time to test the water that the first chance to do so after an enormous drop in GDP.

It's pretty obvious that these really low rates aren't exactly enspiring confidence in the first place, the problem being that unless you have a pre-2007 deal for finance, 1. finance is difficult to obtain 2. the rates passed on to customers have a bigger bank margin than was previously accepted. So I don't reckon a 0.25% is going to make any difference to business in general other than giving them a signal to start thinking about rates being higher in time.

The fence is comfy. No change.

But we will be told inflation is temporary and next year it will be closer to target.

Then next week, the news corps will be telling us inflation has increased.

Ta da, this months news, sorted.
