I reently took out a skoda car finance loan. After taking the loan I phoned Skoda and asked them to change the direct debit to another account. They told me that they would need to send out a new direct debit mandate but this never arrived and despite several phone calls to Skoda to enquire as to why the new direct debit mandate was not sent out they have have now added charges for late payment and are refusing to admit responsibility or refund the charges!! Does anyone know where I stand on getting these refunded??
Thanks
Russell

It is up to you to ensure payment is made. You could have paid over the phone.
Why didn't you leave the existing account there to repay the finance?0 -
Until the new direct debit was in place you should have ensured that funds were available in the old account to cover payments.russmcc748 wrote: »I reently took out a skoda car finance loan. You knew the new DD wasn't set up but payment was due and you should have made funds available to cover this. You agreed to this when you purchased the car.
I don't think you have any chance of getting these charges refunded.
