Daughter moved out, then took out contract phone at my address. Trying to nip this in the bud. I don't know where she lives, she refuses to tell me, with her boyfriend somewhere. Neither of them are working so she must have lied about her income. What do I do? She has ripped me off several times in the past to the thousands. I have opened the mail coming here about the contract, it sdoes have my address on it so I'm assuming its not a crime (ie suspected fraud)

Presumably if she tries to take a loan out from your address, the letter will go to your address-if you receive such letter you can contact the company (the same with any creditors letters she receives at your address) and just tell them that she doesn't live there and if they ask for dates be honest and tell them what date she moved out. she needs to learn to be responsible for her actions. HTH
Or (as an afterthought) any letters addressed to her at your address, mark them return to sender or not known at this address-and put them back in the post. Then you don't even have to open them to see what she's up to-they will catch up with her eventually.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I don't see that you can and provided she's not doing it in your name and you are not financially associated e.g. have a joint account, then it won't affect you financially.0

If you send the post back to the company as GONE AWAY.
The company may after a few months put a GONE AWAY marker on there credit file making it harder for them to obtain credit at your address.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Im sure the different DOBs will tell you both apart
If you both become linked I would recommend you contact the CRAs in the first instance.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Hi,
she probably used your address because normally they are asked how long have you lived at such and such address, so saying 2/3 weeks doesn't look good.
I would be aware.0 -
If you're worried about her taking stuff out in your name - I think you can put an alert on your credit rating or something? That means they check first.Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten0 -

With regard mobiles, this is good advice, the networks will normally suspend the line from making outgoing calls and ask the customer to supply more proof of address.
The OP could also contact the network (preferably in writing to the head office or fraud team) and include the bills with a letter stating they think the daughter has used the mothers details to obtain the service. (if the names are the same she might well have used the mothers details as DOB doesn't show on the monthly bills.
This used to be a serious problem for the networks ( and still might be, I'm not in the industry anymore so don't know the current status). The network will take notice and investigate it though.====0
