My Debt

1Howdy,

I've been meaning to take a more pro-active approach to my debt for a while, I've started today!

I've written down my debts and they total 10k. I will write an SOA when I next get a chance to sit down at a pc.

I have an overdraft of 2500 with BoS and am opening a new account with RBS. I'm charged £1 a day for that use and its at its limit. Once I have changed over banks I will write to BoS to discuss my debt with them. Have the set.a precident previously with how the deal with people that can't pay (I have and can pay but I cannot afford anything extra that will actually bring the overdraft down!)

Healthy Regards

Hello supersy and welcome to MSE - you have done the right thing in opening another bank account away from your overdraft, this will protect your income and put you back in control. Just to make sure, can I check if you have any debt linked to your new bank RBoS, like Nat West, etc as you do need to make sure that your income goes into an account that is totally unlinked to any bank associated to your creditors

You can check if your bank is linked on http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings#whatcounts

As Beanie says, it would be good to see your SOA (Statement of Account) as that would help anyone when giving you advice - it is always best to see the whole picture and others may advise in other areas of your budget which may help you along the way

You can complete your SOA on http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html and post it on here your thread
