Perfume for Mother of the Groom

Hi

I know this sounds daft, but I usually but my mum a little something for valentines day - :rotfl:and for this year I was thinking of getting her a perfume.

My brother is getting married in June and I thought maybe I could get a perfume which she could wear to the wedding.

Trouble is, no idea what to buy!

The only things I know are as follows:

Perfumes she likes but already has/had -

Issey Miyake, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, DNKY (the apple shaped bottle), Van Cleef.

She doesn't like vanilla or heavy scents.

She is 65 but thoroughly modern and I just need ideas please.

Thank you x :)

Not new fragrances, but I like both Ralph Lauren Romance and Paul Smith Woman. They wouild be very apt for both occasions and are both feminine but not too sweet and overpowering, especially for the wedding. They are both quite reasonably priced too.

Whenever I give a gift of perfume, I liberally spray one of the little perfume tester strips with perfume from the sample bottle in store, enclose with the perfume and the gift receipt and wrap up. It fragrances the gift and the recipient can get an idea of the perfume without having to remove the cellophane (thus rendering it unreturnable!).

ETA Also like Narciso Rodriguez Essence, although a bit more ££

It is a superb idea Bronnie! I must do that!

OP, what about Acqua Di Gioa? Similar sort of fragrance type to those you have listed, I've seen reduced Christmas gift sets in Debenhams for around £30 if that helps

I wore Calvin Klein Eternity to both my kids' weddings. It is long lasting and not too overpowering. I also thought the name was very apt. I sincerely hope their marriages will last for an eternity! Doing OK so far at 6 and 7 years married.

everyone i know adores Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. It is expensive (so although everyone loves it, not everyone buys it), but it is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeely nice! My mum uses it (55) and me & my sis (27 & 31)
i dont know if she would find it too heavy tho... but it is lovely.
