piggy back system, failure

hi just after some advice please. on paper we have enough money coming in to pay all bills, food, petrol etc however we were always finding ourselves scratting around trying to make ends meet.
from 1st jan we have set ourselves a budget where money is put in one account when dh gets paid weekly to cover direct debits . sereperate is another account which does food, petrol etc, and..heres the problem another account which using the budget brain thing I worked out how much we need each month to run the car, insurance, tax etc.
this piggy banking worked great in jan and is definately the way to go,but when I worked this out I didnt check the date car tax was due. now with only one month saved into my car acc I have to tax and mot the car..which is going to mess up my system.
so far I thinking I can either borrow some from the direct debit account which I know will annoy me after doing so well last month not touching it, or use some savings we have to sort the car so as we can keep to this budgeT plan, only thing that makes we not keen on this is we only have around one month bills money saved as a kind of back up should there be a emergency/dh lose job etc,and its taken ages to save this .
any advice/suggestions please. felt really good on sticking to budget and now so annoyed at myself i overlooked something so obvious

Basically I think you're going to have to use the emergency savings because the car will have to be taxed. Or use the D/D account and tighten your belt next month?
This sort of thing is always tricky at the outset if you're only saving 1/12 of what you need each month and the bill comes in earlier than you've allowed for.
Don't be angry with yourself, that's how you learn and you'll know for any other bills you've got coming up
Maybe someone more experienced can come up with a better solution? It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
