just like a normal bar of soap, some coloured stuff preferably. Was thinking i could melt it and add stuff to it so it looks handmade!! bit of a cheat, but i cant afford a soap making kit.
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I have made soap in the past and if its not turned out the way i wanted you can grate it , melt it over a double boiler and have another go! Its called rebatching. Never tried it with bought soap though.0

Yes I think you can - there was a thread somewhere on the OS board a bit since. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0

If you grate it and add a bit of boiling water it will liquify..We had a kids soap kit which came with ready grated soap and little moulds and that is what we did.0

yup as lightisfading said.. it nearly went "boom" all over the microwave and was a *nasty* mess to clean up. (and yes, i tried the double boiler method too.) i managed to mix it with dried lavender and mash it into a mould but the lavender went brown and i ended up with a brown mass which really doesn't look very appetising. Does smell lavendery and does feel soapy though. *shrug*. won't be doing it again.
however, on the same soap thread someone else commented that *most* soaps can't be melted that way, but a clear soap from superdrug can. Worth looking up if you really want to make your own soap.
I made the decision, a couple days ago, since i only wanted it as a very small part of 2 people's pressies to buy some soap instead. Just hope i can get some decent ones without paying a fortune.....
good luck with it anyway!
