Temporary Payment Arrangement

Hi All,
Can someone help me with this I contacted CCCS regarding my debt problem and their answer was to do a temporary payment arrangment with my creditors. The reason for this I think is because I have job interviews next week and could get offered a position and then be able to meet my commitments after time. For my circumstances I was not offered an IVA at the moment.
My question is by doing the above it is going to wreck my credit score and put defaults on my file. Will this have a detrimental effect on my job prospects, do employers ask for a credit history or do a credit check for non finance industry jobs, the positions I have applied for are sales rep.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Mark
Usually a creditor won't issue a default until you are 2-3months behind on your payments.
Are you up to date with payments currently? if you are and you just need to make token payments for a month then creditors will not issue a default against you. They have agreed to give debtors a month to seek help and advice before they take any further steps or action.
If your reduced payments carry on longer than that then there is a chance you could be issued with default notices and then have the defaults entered on your credit file. These stay on file for 6years.
Only finance related jobs require credit checks or ask about an employees credit file/ CCJs etc. Eg banks, post office, IFAs, accountants etc. For a sales rep job it would be highly unlikely they would ask about your credit situation.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
