It's worthwhile to note that it's cheapest item(s) free. We had to split our shopping to make the most of this deal!

So three tins of cat food at 50p and three tubs of cat treats at £1 would see you saving 50p and 50p, not 50p and £1, if that makes sense!

  • thanks malamay, I split my shop too - got 3 of the more xpensive items, paid for them, then put them in the car and went back and bought the 3 cheaper items, is good point worth remembering.
  • We didn't split ours and it went through fine. We got -

    6x Cat Litter @ £5.22
    3x Cat Food @ £4.93
    3x Cat Treats @ £1.09

and got 2 of the cat litters and one each of the food and treats free. It was put through the till in that order though. :)

I can confirm that at our local Tesco Extra budgie food (Trill) was included.. I got two lots of Trill and one lot of Trill Toppers..

Should last quite a while, a decent saving.. was going to get some Avia sand sheets which were also included in the offer (despite not actually being food as such) but was a bit worried they would come through as the free item when scanned.

May go back at some point.. cheers.

Don't usually buy pet food as I don't have any pets, but took my Gran today and she thought that it was expensive - possibly / probably because there were no offers on, so probably only really worthwhile if you buy Tesco's own.

The same applies to the cereal really, though anybody would have thought that it was free with the amount that they had in stock, yet there were many things that were far cheaper just last week - certainly Shreddies and Cheerios were less than half of Tesco's imaginary fantasy price which equates to better than 4 for 2 as opposed to the current 3 for 2. I certainly could not see any value in anything that I might have wanted to buy.

Hmmm. On 18th January a big bag of Tesco's own dried dogfood was £5.48 (not on offer). It's now magically £6.19, quite a jump.

So instead of roughly £15.50 for 3, it's almost £12.40. Yes I know it's still a saving on the price they're now charging, but it's another very sneaky trick.

Great Offer - thanks Tesco. It is so rare to have these offers on pet food - actually I don't remember them having a 3-4-2 before.

I got 3x24 case of Butchers Classic canned cat food roughly working out to 28p a can. This is a massive saving for me and my 4 cats + 1 stray. No price increase on this brand.

I got crunchies too and I didn't put them through separately and it was calculated ok.
  • I split my shop!! great offer, thanks Tesco!

Thanks OP, this is brilliant for me with 2 dogs, I'll get a shedload!
    ;):cool::T:)

My £9.50 clubcard vouchers came today so it'll be very cheap today...

Same here, we have 3 dogs- so will be stocking up- and I have a
    £9.00 off £60 spend voucher :T
  • I do agree the supermarkets upshift the prices when they do these offers and you are right about the Tesco cereal prices, I saw that too - very naughty!

I can only vouch for what I usually buy, that's Felix wet cat food, and its the same price for the tins and pouches this week in the 3 for 2 as it was last week and a couple of weeks ago, Ive dug out my receipts.

I dont know about the other stuff though so cant comment on if theyve put the prices up, but I know the other supermarkets have 2 for £5 or 2 for £6 on some cat food pouch boxes, so would be worth double checking offers, but for me it works out the cheapest to buy single tins 3 at a time, as mine mainly have dry food from the vets.

6 pack of tins is around £3.65, yet can get 6 tins for £2 (roughly) on the 3 for 2 deal. 3 packs of 6 tins on the 3 for 2 works out at 40.5p per tin, buying 3 tins at a time on same deal is about 34p per tin. (roughly!) Hth.
