Hi all
I would like to start getting creative with my mum, and then if we are any good selling to friends etc, for a profit.
I was thinking that its just something for us to do together for fun and a bit different from just watching tv!
So ...
- card making is my first idea
Does anyone else have any ideas for things we can make together in order to sell for a few extra pennies?
Thanks everyone x

If you were going to get into card making, why not expand the 'present' industry! You could make wrapping paper, gift boxes and gift bags too.... try to develop a unique selling point though, maybe make it 'green', 'quirky', or 'british' or example! You could set up an easy website, or contact small suppiers to get it moving it you wanted to expand, if you want to make it a real business plan you could do some market research first, if you dont have money to invest in research, Marketest UK is running a small business competition where you could win some research for your business idea!
If you can have fun & make money at the same time I think you could have a viable business!
GOOD LUCK! 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0 -
Hey Barros, what a brill idea, spending quality time with your Mum and being constructive at the same time.
Well, you seem motivated so once the ideas start coming you won't have enough hands.
Next month is the best time to start sowing seeds. How about recycling pots and tubs to grow them in so its only the cost of the seeds to consider.
If your goal is to make money together then why don't you draw up a plan of what sells at what time of year. For example you could make a bunch of Xmas cards but you'll find they will sell more in November/december so you can put off them until the summer. there are loads of ideas on here however try the special occasions board for inspiration, patterns etc. Sock monkeys are supposed to be easy to make and look really cute too. It depends on how creative you are and what you like doing, baking, sewing, knitting, candle making the list goes on.
Hope this helps and keep up the motivation.0
