The bottom line is that if your vehicle is taxed, insured, mot'd, psv'd etc and you're not doing anything you shouldn't be, you've nothing to fear and the roads will be a better place with this system.
Totally agree, I've always taxed, insured and MOT'd any vehicle I own, its a real shame others don't do likewise, its only the law after all:o. I'm all for more detection cameras and large fines for those who break the law:T:T:T It really is about time the thousands of people that openly flaunt the system are made to pay;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
HI,
Anyone any idea what the CCTV cameras are for that are strapped to lampposts around the odyssey? There is one as you approach the Odyssey on Queen's Quay at the right hand bend, and about half a dozen at the junction of Queen's Quay, Sydenham road and Queen's road.
I know of the new ANPR ones going up around the place on dedicated lampposts around the place that are usually black, but these ones have a normal CCTV camera and a green box at the base of the lamppost all chained up.
Just curious!Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

Has anyone noticed that cameras that are being erected in roads across NI. Seemed to have appeared on most main roads in the past few weeks. Does anyone know what they are for?0
-
I don't know but i would assume they are there to screw more money from motoristsBe good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.0

Be nice if they will be nailing people driving without insurance. Read a report online somewhere that says theres an est 49,491 uninsured cars on the road here0

I think they're Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. The PSNI can use them to track vehicle movements.

Nothing personal but this must be at least the 3rd thread on the subject in the last few weeks. I do agree though, everywhere I look I see them so I'm going to go with ANPR and hopefully a drop in my insurance premium this year!!!!
Edit: had a look through the PSNI facebook page and they are indeed ANPR cameras. I shall await a premium reduction with baited breath!0 -
