Hi guys,
I am just trying to sort out my debts from ages ago as i am moving house and i know i am going to have more money spare.
Im currently 25 and when i was 18 i started taking credit out left right and centre.
My 1st debts that i am going to pay off 1st is 2 loans i have in my grandparents name (as im a wagon driver and they get worried about how they will pay the debts if something was to happen to myself).
I owe them aprox
Grandma £500 (creditcard) for car insurance
Granda £<3000 (bank loan for a car)
I have a agreement where I pay £10 a week out of my wage and i have £3520.36 to pay on that (which was going to be my next one to chip away at)
Anyway, getting to my point, on my Experian credit file i have these

(i dont actually know who or what these guys are doing, just found out about this 1 when i sighned to to Experian)
Anyway,
Since the 2 biggest debts are only a few month away from the 6 years from default, is it worth just leaving them and letting them default and pay the others that i have ???
thanks guys any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks.
Tim.

Hi you may have defaulted in 2004/5 but this is not always the date from when the six years starts from. It can either be the date of last payment, date last acknowledged or the date the amount was first due. So if you made a payment in say 2006 and that was the last time you dealt with that debt and have never acknowledged it then the 6 years run from 2006
You can acknowledge the debt quite easily without realising it. Simply writing to ask for more time to pay or more details of the debt can be classed as acknowledging it.
Have a look on https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk about statute barred debts http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=25_liability_for_debts_and_the_limitation_actThe Cabbage
