Hi, my first post and am hoping you can help me.
I am an upholsterer by trade and currently have a full time job working 40 + hours.
I have been offered work outside my current job (different company) , which i can do in the evenings , though nothing big , probarly £200 per month if am lucky.
As the company requires an invoice for the work i do (they pay by cheque) am assuming i will have to register self employed ? , if i did would it effect my current job , ie tax etc ?

It wouldn't affect your current job - you would just need to file your tax return every year and remember to keep about 25% of your income aside to pay for the tax you owe.
You might want to check ths new job with your current employer as well as some employers have a rule that you can't work with/for a competitor...0
