Restoring patent shoes

Just been shopping today for silver wedding shoes but found pair of really funky boots, black patent and suede. And they were reduced to £20 so of course I HAD to buy them :D
Got them home and have just realised that there's a patch on one heel thats not shiny. It isn't that noticeable really and certainly for that price I don't want to give up on the boots...they were the last pair in the store. I've not had patent shoes since I was about 6! Is it possible to get something to restore the shiny bits?

Maybe worth asking on the Old Style board? They're into 'Make do and Mend'
