I have no Life/Term Insurance as I surrendered an endowment. I was seeking to take out life cover and was quoted a monthly premium. However, I was asked to complete a direct debit prior to being accepted for the cover - I have various medical complaints so I could be rejected or the cover might be higher than the quote.
Is it normal procedure to be asked to complete the direct debit and return it to the person dealing with the application prior to being accepted for cover. :-/

Hi,
Yes this is normal.
If your premium is loaded due to your medical history then they will write to you asking you to sign a letter agreeing to their new terms. Please note that whilst I am a mortgage broker my comments on this site are intended as general discussion and NOT personalised mortgage advice. You may want to check with your broker why they are not submitting the application online. A couple of the cheaper providers offer better rates for online submission. Online submissions dont require a mandate to be completed.
It could be that someone like bright grey came out cheapest and they dont have online submission but legal and general, friends provident and others do.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
