a little CCJ advice if possible please

Right, DH has had a letter from a solicitors saying that he's not made any payments towards a CCJ issued against him, now we knew nothing about this and it was issued last September (we moved and had a redirection service up to September so never received any letters etc) we've checked with the court (Northampton - for some reason?) and they have confirmed the details as per the CCJ, the amount to repay is £125 pm which we cannot afford so have filled in the form to have the amount varied with our offer of £25 pm and also have contacted the solicitors as we have no knowledge of who and how we're supposed to be paying this money to (they say they're accting on behalf of a debt collection agency, acting on behalf of Next) as yet they've not acknowledged the letter (sent over a week ago) HOWEVER the difficulty we have and after speaking with the court, they are not sure that we can do anything about the CCJ as it was issued in England, but we live in Scotland and they have said that it should really be transferred to a Scottish Court, but we can't do that and we can't do anything about the CCJ which requires a hearing so what do we do next, the court says that for the CCJ to be enforced with bailiffs etc this again would have to be transferred to a Scottish court. Is there any more that we should/could be doing

    Hi Sam,

Details of the ccj should be on your husbands credit file. You can get a free 30 day trial with Experian and Equifax, but need to cancel it before the trial period ends to ensure they don't charge you. As you now live in Scotland, I'm pretty sure everything legally would have to go through the Scottish courts, but hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon.

Good luck in getting it sorted

If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

Thanks for that, as far as I know from the court the CCJ is all above board and legal etc, it's just how things will progress now that we live in Scotland that I was wanting to clarify a little more.
