yes, its HA, I'm on a starter tenancy agreement, so 3 inspections in first year, if all ok, then I get a 'real' tenancy.

oh no, kids eh!

mine left their bedroom in a big state, luckily the chap who came to do the inspection has kids, and so was sympathetic!

Ok I see. Im new to all this, we are in HA too now. Our tenancy is assured shorthold for 3 years then it reverts to a standard tenancy. They never mentioned anything about inspections to us so was just wondering if that was a normal procedure.

yeah, its not Buckingham Palace, but its beginning to feel like home.

Its a bit strange being in a flat again after years in a semi next door to very deaf old dears, so no issues with noise - I keep having to remind the kids about it when they are playing on the wii and jumping up and down screeching!! :eek:

The chap was really nice, he said he wished all tenants homes were as well kept!! :T

The area is ok, not the best, but generally nice, and I have made a couple of acquainatances in the area :j

the starter tenancy and inspections were introduced in our area to try and weed out the 'unsuitable' tenants before they cause too much hassle - apparently its a nightmare to get people evicted unless they actually cause criminal damage or assault neighbours!! :eek::eek::eek: Basically they can end a starter tenancy at any time, and if you get complaints from neighbours you get extra visits.

All fair enough tbh - as far as I am concerned I am very very grateful to be given the chance of a safe home, and am not planning to cause any trouble

Thats nice to hear TQ Glad its starting to feel like home. Im sure they see some right sights so it must have made a refreshing change coming to yours.

I know what you mean about kids and noise! We are in a victorian terrace and the walls are fairly thick so noise isn't too much of an issue. The only slight problem, is the house next door was converted to flats, so our bedroom is adjacent to their living room, so sometimes hear their telly when we are trying to sleep, but on the whole its not too bad.
