I already get free shipping for orders over £20 at Scan through Hexus. Orders are still sent by next day delivery using CityLink

If you don't mind can u explain how that works?

Also, has anyone who registered for free delivery heard from Scan or not?

    See extract below from RPoints:

No luck people - sorry, see respionse from Scan below:

    Thank you for your email,

I have been notified the free carriage offer is only available for people
who were registered at the I29 show this weekend. If your friend has
registered at the show over the weekend he can place the order and the cost
of delivery would be removed at a later date as the link is not a live
    system.

    Regards,

Just got this in an email from Scan.
    Hi there,

Thank you for submitting your details to us via the i29 form.

We were inundated with requests to register for this offer at our i29 LAN Party and also through our website and we've taken the decision to extend the offer out to everyone who applied. This has been done in good spirit as a gesture of thanks to those gamers who made the effort to attend the LAN Party ...and as a gesture of goodwill to welcome everyone else as Scan customers. :)

We have extended this offer out to everyone in good faith and all we ask in return is that you respect the following ‘spirit of participation’:

    * Free delivery applies only to our standard Citylink delivery service to UK mainland addresses.
    * Scan reserves the right to withdraw this offer giving a week's notification if we deem it necessary.
    * There is a great deal of trust and good faith in this offer and in the spirit of this we have not set a strict minimum order value. Nevertheless, in all fairness we will need to monitor orders placed and in any cases where repeat orders come through of less than £20 we reserve the right to review your entitlement to free carriage to our discretion. Please bear in mind if we do feel the need to contact you in cases like this we will do so amicably and work on a case-by-case basis, treating each one on it's individual merits and we will do everything we can to resolve any issues in a positive way.

They obviously know people were taking advantage of the offer and decided to let everyone in on it anyway. Much respect to them for that, can't imagine many retailers doing that.
  • got the same email, yay free delivery. tbh Scan has always been good for me.

Scan are good. The only downside is I've recently done an RMA which went fine but they take ages to give the refund back.

    I agree with the shark.
Once again Scan show their ineptness by mentioning that word "mainland".
    Pitiful and well worth avoiding.

I actually bought an Epson printer off Scan last year. It arrive with about 10 installation disks, none of them English. After getting no reply from them I contacted Epson. Epson told me that printers thus packaged were meant for the European market not British and weren't covered by their warranty.

Eventually Scan sent me a cd with drivers they'd downloaded from the internet... long after I'd done the same myself

    Beware of foreign discs....
