wanna do a hairdressing course

Inspired by celebrity scissorhands I want to learn some hairdressing skills, not to become a professional hairdresser but so I can style and cut friends and family hair.. if they let me! But all the courses seem to be for schoolleavers and I am 30 and want a part-time course that is more relaxed. Has anyone any ideas where I could find such a course? Sorry if this in the wrong forum but I couldn't think where to put it. Thanks for any help!

well as long as you do a better job than those on celebrity scissorhands!!!!! then your friends and family should let you.
have you tried your local beauty college? you dont have to be a school leaver to do courses at those. Also try night adult education classes in your area they might do courses on basic hairdressing.
Alternatively if you wanted to you could get a job in a salon as an apprentice (the money is rubbish though!!) and do in house training.
if you tell us where you live then i will have a look around for you.0 -

Thanks, yeah I've looked at all the local colleges. I live in Essex on the borders of Herts and I just want something casual that teaches me the basic skills.0
