Cost of getting locks replaced?
Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 1.8 Petrol ...
I have 2 keys:-
1. Remote key which operates the ignition only (remote does nothing, have only changed battery so far)
2. Non-remote key which operates central locking via drivers door only
Notes:
(i) Passenger door lock cannot be controlled by either of the above keys, both just turn around endlessly in it
(ii) Petrol cap isn't the original one with a lock - I bought a new one from eBay which came with its own keys (not bothered about having a different key for this to be honest)
What I want
I would like 1 x remote key and 1 x non-remote key which bother operate ignition and central locking. The remote should also work :-)
My understanding is that I will need an entirely new complete lock set as over time previous owners must have changed various locks for them to get in this state. Is that correct?
If I picked up a complete set on eBay (about £150 delivered at the moment) - where do I go to get it fitted and how many hours labour would I be looking at?
Citroen dealership quoted about £400 :-o There must be a cheaper way?
Thanks in advance.

Would something like this be any good?

When the lock starts to spin it's quite often because the key blade is starting to wear down and therefore isn't quite long enough anymore to engage the anti theft clutch in the lock barrel.
get a new keyblade cut before you go down the replacement route as this won't cost much and it may solve your problem.
replacing these locks can be a real pain as there is limited access to the barrel.
also give the lock barrels a really good soaking with GT85 (similar to WD40 but much longer lasting) to make sure they're free from grit and grime.0 -

The thing I want to achieve is to have a single key that works the doors and ignition. At the moment the two keys are totally different which is the main thing I want to resolve.
The passenger door lock spinning would be nice to sort, but probably isnt a massive issue at the moment as I rarely lock/unlock from that door.0
