    Hello and welcome :)

Well done on listing your incomings and outgoings, that's really helpful! You've already taken the best step by moving back home anmd reducing your outgoings.

The two things that stand out, apart from the cigs which you are already tackling ;), are the mobile phone bill and the amount you have in surplus every month.

You mobile bill is very high, any reason for this? Perhaps you are not on the right plan or simply over-using it? This could/should be cut down if possible.

According to your figures, you have over £528 left every month. Although you have not listed car related costs, birthdays, haircuts, any prescriptions etc etc, you should still have a nice amount left over to throw as extra at the debt. Consider what expenditure you have not included - use Martin's budget planner as a checklist - and then focus on chucking the rest at either you credit card or overdraft perhaps, which ever has higher APR/should be paid off quicker.

    Hope this helps :)

hey moozie, thanks for the advice :)

on recent months my spare cash has just been wasted early in the month on going out (i somehow spend a fortune when i do get drunk). also have a habit of betting sometimes, which i have now stopped, as of last week when i totalled it all up. the rest of that 500 or so was spent on lunch at work and nights out. got a company car so only pay petrol on that thankfully.

am talking to orange today to see if i can get a better deal, they are usually quite good i find so will try and get some more inclusive texts and minutes etc to bring it down.

my main problem is tht if ti's there, i tend to spend it, so as of next pay day i will pay everything off plus a bit extra on CC etc before i get the chance to spend.

i have recently setup an account with alliance and leicester, just a standard one, so may transfer what i budget for the month to live on into there and only use that.

    thanks again :)

ps try and stick with cutting out the fags...let us know how you get on
