If you've just changed the card and not the whole account, they can still charge to it.

You need to do what RAS says - empty the account completely and open a brand new one, brand new bank. Then they can't touch it.

Absolutely. YOU must empty and close that old account.

And open a new one with someone who has no financial association (because there have been cases where the new account with bank B has been raided after the bank A account was closed, because they belong to the same banking group).

    Hi 2011Fairy,

These people should be ashamed of themselves, they're basically legalised loan sharks who can somehow get away with hassling a pregnant lady for money she doesn't have! IMO, they're scum.

The link RAS posted to the other thread has some really good advice, quite an eye opener too, I didn't know that payday loan companies could keep taking money when you've cancelled your card. (Again, scum!) I agree with everyone else here, empty and your account asap and go somewhere else. Fence off your money somewhere unassociated with your current bank, don't let them get to it, you need it more than they need it.

I'm afraid I'm not in a position to offer any specific financial advice like some of the more seasoned folks here but I'd be more than happy to help you come up with some cheap and healthy meals using whatever you've got in the storecupboard/freezer if you like.

Other than that, all I can really say is to keep you head up and try and keep communicating clearly with the creditors as much as possible, and in writing where you can (then there's a written record that you've been as reasonable and helpful as possible). There's templates on this site to help you with that.

Try not to let them grind you down, they're not worth it and you've got bigger and better things to concentrate on, like that baby bump you're baking! It'll get better no matter how horrible it all seems now it will get better. In the meantime, I'm sending you big hugs :grouphug:
