Have ordered, will see if it is free. The receipt says free so I shall expect them to be free of charge.
I have had stuff from them before as they are cheap and you can return for full refund if they do turn out to have charged you.

All these online shops require a shopping cart. Shopping carts require card details. Even if its free unless the item has been specifically set up to work outside of the cart, it requires card details. It's just the way it is.
Look at play.com ... two free DVD newspaper offers .. both required card details even though it says "FREE" as opposed to £0.00 in this instance.0 -

Having to enter card details ensures that people cannot abuse the freebie with so many requests.
I trust play.com 100%. Same with amazon.co.uk and ebuyer.co.uk. I've bought from all 3 merchants many times with no problems.0 -
I'm sure vitaminsdirect doesnt have the marketting power of play.com but I wouldn't dismiss it as a random site.
My 6 x 30 capsules came today, no charge with an invoice saying £0.00.0 -
Thanks for the post - I'll order one bottle - wait and see if it's free.0

Took my old credit card details (replaced it with another Credit card ages ago) where other sites would flat out refuse them, so I'm a bit wary about this - maybe card harvesting? Doesn't even ask for CVV2? Dodgy if you ask me...

I'm not conclusive about this, it would seem fairly radical, looking at the site it seems a fairly comprehensive collection of stuff. And the payment server, although no longer letting me in from the IP address I've already used to order, is a secure server, certified by Verisign. Maybe it isn't. But normally, a site should check the card details and authorise with your Bank before saving the details - including the CVV2 digits. This is what made me feel a bit wary, and I'm glad I put my old card details in, cause that way I cannot get charged.
I wouldn't worry too much, other people seem to have had successes. I'm just slightly circumspect, like the many others, about a site that asks for card details for a freebie, then doesn't validate those card details.MSE: It's grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! :beer:0 -

They are a legit long standing company with an established clientel. Their website looks fine (professional and secure). The fish oil is labelled as an offer and I suspect its a mistake they haven't restricted it to one per order.0
