Hi all, after a very frustrating 45 minute conversation with lloyds yesterday regarding the interest they are charging on the account i have contacted the FOS & made a complaint ( thank you to the person who suggested it last time)

Basically i have been on a DMP for a over a year & lloyds wont freeze interest which i know they dont have too but now they have pushed me over my overdraaft limit & are now just piling on charges etc. I pay they around £5 a month & they charge just over £16.

Has anyone contacted the FOS & what was the outcome with Lloyds? the FOS were absolutely brilliant! lovely people. All i want is a freeze on interest as my debt has gone up by £180 since i started with the DMP. Despite ignored letters from myself & payplan x

Yes, I made a complaint to the FOS 2 years ago and was awarded £200 compensation and got an apology from Lloyds. Since then they have continued to act in pretty much the same manner i.e. ignoring letters & the fact I am sticking to repayment arrangements and have voluntarily paid me two lots of £100 compensation, apologised etc and then repeat the behaviour. And they wonder why the public has a low opinion of he banking industry!
  • thank you! did they freeze interest? x

Lloyds are an absolute administrative shambles. One department has no idea what the other is doing.I have 3 credit cards with them and have been paying them via a CCCS Debt Management plan for nearly 4 years.
They messed me about with interest charges until i made a formal complaint to them and asked them to default and close the 3 accounts as apparently this is the only way they will stop interest PERMANENTLY.
They finally agreed to do this and all interest has now been stopped as long as i continue to pay them monthly via CCCS.
My credit file is shot but i don,t care because i never want credit again anyway.
Might be worth a try for many of you who don,t want further credit .
    good luck

Yes, they did freeze interest eventually. I had no problems at all with my credit card account (self managed dmp) just the loan I have.
I've also started to email Helen Weir, who is head of retail banking for Lloyds, when things go wrong. Her PA normally responds and things get sorted. If you PM me I will send you the email address.
  • thank you all! yes they have halfed the interest on the credit card but not the current account. I have to say not only are they the most unhelpful creditors they are the most unprofessional too! They do not respond to letters, phone calls etc etc. x

In what way did they push you over your overdraft limit?

My debt was at £500 when i entered the dmp and i had a £650 limit they have continued to charge interest every month as what im paying them isnt covering the interest. now i have gone over the limit due to the charges & they are charging a new 'using my overdraft fee' as well as a charge for going over my overdraft limit
