There is a NI craft fairs page on the forum which gives you loads of information, fair dates etc.
Depends what you are selling - food products are highly regulated in terms of premises, preparation and labelling. As far as I know soaps and cosmetics have to be approved by a chemist if you are selling to shops, not sure about at fairs though and childrens toys have to meet necesssary regulations.
In terms of tax, yes you should be registered for self assessment, however you might want to try afew fairs first and see if you are actually going to make any money before looking into this, at my first fair I actually lost money just because I hadn't worked out what products sold best and how to display them.
Post something on the NI Craft Fairs thread here and you will get loads more info and help
Good luck!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
Second all Smokie says, plus to clarify for non - food stuff you don't need an actual license to trade as such, but most fairs will insist that you have public liability insurance and even if they don't you should have it anyway!!Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0
