You were up until April 2010. But as has been stated the payment date is now variable (Mon - Fri inc) ..... depending upon the final 2 characters of the NI number. But the principle that most people lose a day (or few) between the theoretical start date and the first pay day remains.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

As your state pension is paid in arrears you should request the payment to be made weekly.
This give you the money earlier, better for your cash flow and no extra costs to you.There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

it is being done in gradual rises by months ie 60 and 1 month - 6months, next rise 60 and 7 -12 months and so on...... somebody born on 6 march 1951 has to wait until 6 march 2012 before they are classed as state pension age at the age of 61. the only other option would of been every woman born after 6/4/10 you all had to wait until you were 65 before you could claim, can you imagine the outcry on that one:o
