Query/advice re CCJ

Hi all, I would like some general advice regarding a CCJ on my credit hisotry.
The CCJ in question will expire (and therefore be removed from
my report) in approximately 18 months. It is for a relatively small
amount and I could pay it off. What I would like to know is, if I were
to pay it off and have it marked as 'satisfied' on my report, would
this significantly increase/improve my credit score?
Is a satisfied CCJ anywhere near as good as no CCJ as far as lenders are concerned?
I have completely turned my credit history around in the last 4/5 years. And these days I have access to contract mobiles, bank loans and credit cards. This CCJ is the only blemish on my otherwise A1 credit file.
However, the missus and I plan to look for mortgages in the not too distant future and a CCJ will make it very difficult for us. Obviously I have a responsibility to pay the CCJ as its a debt I owe, but in all honesty, unless paying it off will have a significantly positive impact on my credit rating/score I will wait until the 6 years are up and ask for it to be removed.

Hi Vetch,
I have a CCJ also and my credit file score is very poor.
I would pay it off if i had the funds and ask the Court to get it marked up satisfied.
I believe however that the ccj stays on your credit file for 6 years from the date of the CCJ and is then removed automatically whether or not it is paid off.
If its a small amount at least it would be worth paying it off as if you go for a mortgage at least the CCJ would be marked satisfied.
Its your call.
Good luck0
