Christening Party - Didsbury Manchester

Hello all,

Am stumped, we need to sort out a Christening party for our son, likely to be in May/June this year in Didsbury. We're getting him Christened at St James'.

Basically we've got about 50 people to entertain, something simple but stylish. Pimms and a light lunch or something for not a massive budget.

We want an unusual but lovely venue with minimal work for us as we've got a new baby and can't be bothered buttering baps etc. And it does need to be in the Didsbury area.

Any ideas? Am keen to avoid the obvious slug and lettuce type thing which is probably more budget friendly but less bespoke and special than we'd dreamed of.

There's a pub called The Didsbury which is quite good. I know it's still a pub but it's not a chain, the food's really nice and they have a big outdoor seating area which might be nice in spring/summer. Maybe give them a ring and see if they take bookings for events like that, or go to check it out soon and see what you think? http://www.thedidsbury.co.uk/

I'm just wondering if you managed to find anywhere that suited your needs? I'm in the same area and looking for a christening venue for a similar amount of guests.... i keep drawing a blank! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
