a consolidation loan is a really , really bad answer and it sounds very much like the OP was mis-sold the consolidation loan - I am sure the OFT and financial ombudsman will be interested in those practices. Shocking, shocking - tying someone into more debt over a longer period of time when they should be actually pointing you in the direction of a free, impartial debt counselling service and holding interest and charges and allowing you to set up a repayment plan. It's scandalous.

gloryninja - you need to set up a new account with someone you don't owe money to and get advice from CAB or CCCS or National Debtline regarding setting up a repayment plan for these debts. You need a new bank account so the old one doesn't a) pull your overdraft or b) one of your other creditors start rinsing your bank account as soon as they know there is a problem - a new bank account puts you in control.
National Debtline have some very good factsheets and one is about arranging a repayment plan with creditors. Creditors may threaten you with everything under the son but there is very little they can actually do to you- read up on it - they can't jail you, they can't take your house, they can't break into your home, all they can really do is default your credit file and take you to court and any judge will see you are doing your best and order you to repay the amount you can afford per month- not what the creditors want and to be honest for the sums involved it will cost your creditors a lot in legal fees compared to how much they will get back off you.
Stay Strong.
