).Any way does any one know were i can get one slightly cheaper? Kind regards:j

£50 is the normall price so just go down to any shop and buy it.
I would advise not the get the F1 cars, too many bits sticking out the break off, front and rear wings are normally the first to go then mirrors ect especially with the crossover track.
I would go for the road rivals or john cooper both the same track layouts. If you want some real fun go for the powerslide drift set but it is a bit more. I think I saw some 50% off offers in hobby craft earlier today most places have offers arround christmas.0 -
Hi thanks for your reply, The road rivals is that the one out at the moment the audi and porshe? I have never bought a scalextric so i really dont know which ones are the best. My son is 8 and told me yesterday that he is not bothered which one i buy him as long it was scalextric. Ah okay Ill bear in mind what you told me about the f1 cars because these things always break if your not carefull. Im willing to spend 50.00 quid on one. So which one do you think i should get for him?? thankyou0

Sorry for the delay, another post prompted me to search, your budget really limits your choce to the base sets whihc is a figure of 8 with a crossover. So you now pick the cars road rivals with the TT and porsch boxster would stand up to more offs than the other option if the GP cars. and off do happen. on the day I got mine I lost both wings, 3 mirrors from my Lemans cars.
I would go for the road rivals, see if you can get the next set up (X2) by getting a discount at the retailer they could come down to £50 you never know, it will give him a few more options to make different tracks thats all. Hot Persute looks good with a focus police car and an impretza.0 -
if hes only 8 you could get him sone of the micro sets. i have just posted on another thread about the micro ones that are around.
boots are doing the a1 grand prix micro for £40 but its on 3 for 2, so that would be a good price.
or the entertainer toy shop is doing a batman returns micro one for £14.95 (+£3.95 postage)
if he really wants one of the big full size sets, then follow little johns advice!!
i prefer the micro sets they dont take up that much space, they are able to be kept up where as the big sets unless you have a massive house or loft space, you cant really keep them up that long as they take up a whole room!!!!!0 -
Bath Model Centre have a large stock and you can order online. Delivery is £3 which is cheap considering sets must weight a lot.
