Stuck in a contract...can i make the debt fun???

Hello all.
So ive been and messed up and entered into a contract with BT that they wont let me out of. They say I am going to be charged for cancelling 24 months at £2.95 I think it is.So Im sitting here thinking shall I cancel it then and pay the cancellation fee and a few thoughts have cropped up in my mind. Ok so if I cancel do I have to pay the cancellation fee in one go or do I have the 24 months to pay it legally?
And another thought...does anyone know if i can pay this in monthly payments what are the most creative and inconveniencing ways i can pay it off....i have no problem in sending BT a bag of pennies for £2.95 or a shirt off my back with my cheque details on it hat i heard someone did many years ago. Well I may as well have fun with it....
Any advice?
Thanks
Sandra
