I'm spending the day organising myself for the holidays  (it was that or tidy the rugrats bedroom again  )
I'm looking into Organic christmas food, and thought maybe a thread would be nice for finding bargains
So far I have found:
Graig farm,
Higher Hacknell,
and Abel & Cole.(No links because I'm bad at them)
There was one other but I can't remember what it was called lol and that one had a nice meat hamper, will have to dig around in my history and post it when I find it!!
I would prefer internet/mail order myself, but other people may like to shop in person so all suggestions welcome
Tesco has recently added a lot to their Organic range in our local store, not sure if this is nationwide?

You have reminded me to order early, alot of places had sold out when I looked last year so thankyou0 -
Do you happen to know if any of the supermarkets do an Organic turkey? DH wants to be sure I'm being cost effective!! Cheeky so and so
Higher Hacknell had the cheapest per kg turkey I have found so far0 -
Don't try the internet, try a farmer's market instead- may not be that cheap, but a wonderful festive atmosphere. Try http://www.farmersmarkets.net/ to find your local one!!! And you can ALWAYS haggle here!!0

Yep, I was going to suggest a farmer's market as well. Also means that more of the money gets to the supplier.
Also, Sheepdrove Organic Farm does organic turkeys.

Their shop is around the corner from my gran (although they also do online orders), and there are always queues going right along the road at christmas. I'm assuming this means they must be good, but I'm veggie, so I can't comment! It's £9.45 a kg, and you can get them in 8kg, 8.5kg or 9kg - so £75.60 upwards :eek:0 -
Thank you for the replies
Sadly no farmers markets near here, but there is a christmas market in the next town next month which should be fun!!
I'm just having another browse and found that Ocado have a whole Organic christmas section, with very reasonable turkey's, amongst other things.
Sheepdrove sounds lovely, a whole lot bigger than we need to go though!! They'd feed us for a month Their basic meat box looks really good though, quite tempted!
Thank you all0
