HDTV Plasma or LCD which should I buy

Hi, I'm wanting advise before buying a high def tv, for my front room. I've been looking at 42" but don't really know where to start in terms of spec, brand, lcd or plasma (I'm thinking plasma), number of pixels (to get the best out of xbox 360) and number of scart sockets, again for dvd/sky/xbox.

Can anyone advise on what to look out for and also what to avoid.

If your buying a HDTV set - look for HDMI inputs - you want at least 2 of these for future proofing yourself
