CCJ & Credit report

Please can someone help me - I have taken the plunge and got a copy of my credit file. I am now in the process of contacting each creditor with F&F offers.

I have a CCJ of £493 shown on my file from a store card which I did have a monthly payment agreed on but that has since lapsed. A company called Aktiv Kapital has the debt now with the balance of £380 owing on it. This is also shown on my report.

So Activ Kapital have made an offer on the debt but if I pay them how would the CCJ come off my account? Should I pay the CCJ off instead?

I'm a bit confused!!! Any advice appreciated

    I'm confused too.

CCJ was for £493 which is the calue shown on your credit file?
The DCA now has this debt and only £380 balance remains?

When you say they have made an offer on the debt, is this a full and final settlement offer?
How much is this offer for?

There is information on the registry trust website about what to do when you pay off or settle a CCJ to get your credit file updated.

The original debt was for £493 and I made some payments towards it through the ICanPayU website which brought the outstanding balance down to £380.

They have made an offer of 35% discount BUT it does not state F&F so I intend to write and get written confirmation of that as they claim to pay the remaining 35% as an incentive.

Should I deal with DCA then or direct with the courts??

The debt is owned by the DCA so payment would be made to them.

Their letter should either state that the payment is considered a full and final settlement or that you will not be liable for the remainder of the debt. If in douby, you can phone nationaldebtline and read it out to them.
