I just checked my bank balance!!

This may seem like a non event to most... but for someone like me with a total phobia of looking at my account (I'd rather pull my own toe nails off!!). It was fabulous as due to religiously filling in my spending diary, there were no nasty surprises! :j
It was wonderful to see it in credit. I think I'll even finish this month with £20 excess to go into the pot for next month. If only I'd dine this years ago instead of adopting the ostrich approach I'd not be having to do a DMP

It's not sad at all Squirrel, bank statements can be scary places and all too often they make really bad reading. Its a lovely feeling seeing something without a minus sign in front of it:T2013 - Finally got the house we' ve worked so hard to get......now it's a life of diy and no money....couldn't be happier 😊

Hi Squirrel
I agree with you totally - for about a year before I started my DMP I didnt open any bank cc post or check my account. Now days me, my bank account and my spending spreadsheet are the best of friends - I cross reference once a day :j
