Hi.

I tried applying for the £2 statutory postal credit report from Experian, so.........

I entered my card details, then name, address and how long I lived there then kaboom...

Sorry there has been a problem

Unfortunately your application for a credit report has not been accepted because there is a problem with the service.

Your card has not been debited.

You may wish to send a written application to the following address, enclosing a cheque or postal order for £2, payable to Experian Ltd.

You need Adobe® Reader® to open and print this form.

Just great. This was a last ditch attempt to see if anything odd shows up against me, and I can't even get a bloody £2 statutory credit report now

Now I am really getting paranoid. All my personal details have gone into cyberspace, and knowing my luck, this will somehow show up on a search

:(

  • firstly - nobody else can see that you've been looking at your credit report. i think it's there for fraud prevention more than anything else

as for your personal details, then if you're positive that you were on the genuine website, then you are most likely safe

If I were you I'd try the online service once more and, if you get the same message, then revert to the postal option. I'll check to make sure we're not having problems, but I suspect it was just a temporary glitch.

I am having the same issue today. Tried twice to get the report but same error.

so much for experian's claims to make it easier for people to view their credit reports?
  • I've had a problem like this in the past. Try again tomorrow, or send off a postal application.

Is Experian having problems again? I tried today and yesterday for my wife and myself and have gotten this error.

Could it be because Experian thinks we moved house at a different time to when we actually did, and therefore disagrees with what I put for "time at current address"?
