Is this debt statute barred?

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. In mid 2002 I entered a two separate non-secured credit agreements with First National Trinity Finance for some items. In late 2003 I developed serious health problems, and I had to give up work. I defaulted on a couple of monthly payments, but I wrote to them in Mar 2004 asking if they would accept reduced payments on the accounts, which they accepted. I continued to pay them as arranged until around Nov 2004 when I was hospitalized because of my health problems, and subsequently I had to move home to an adapted property in 2005. No further payments where made since Nov 2004, and I didn't hear from First National Trinity Finance until last summer (2010) - when I received what appeared to be a statement of account from a company called Aktiv Kapital. The company have since sent me a few of these letters. I would very grateful if anyone could advise whether or not the debt is now statue barred, or does the letter I sent them in Mar 2004 act as a permanent acknowledgement of the debt? Thanks

No, it doesn’t.
If you haven't acknowledged the debt in writing or made a payment for 6 years (and there is no CCJ on the debt), then the debt is statute barred.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
