Egg card / 0% card

I currently have an egg card which is NOT 0%.

Now I know that the sensible thing to do is to apply for a 0% card and, if successful, shift the balance to that card.

The thing is that my egg card is now a card where I just pay it off (it doesn't allow me to buy anything - not sure of the technical term). So, I feel afraid to get a 0% card in case I start using it and running up more debt.

I am currently paying £50ish per month in interest which I know is silly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Apply for a new 0% card and once it is activated and you transfer, cut it up or put it in some water in the freezer (or both).
