You can get cashback going through quidco; if you or your family (who're going to share use of it anyway) are in education click on the link at the bottom of the apple page for "education store" to get a discount (you may have to go through a college internet connection but it's worth it).
A friend who had a mac and a pc said using a pc was like driving across Birmingham but stopping at every traffic jam. Using a mac was like using the M6 toll road - you pay a bit extra but then there's far less fuss and everything moves fast and easy. Netbooks are light and handy. I have one, an HP mini and so far I'm still satisfied, since I don't really do much with it. The only problem is that netbook processors are pretty slow compared to a laptop.
Laptops, on the other hand are bigger and heavier, but faster and has much better specs than netbooks. If you want one, I suggest Asus, Dell, or HP.0 -
hi again,
I have just found some dell laptops in tesco and was wondering if they would meet my criteria(OP).
Dell Inspiron M5030 Laptop (AMD Athlon™ V140, 3GB, 250GB, 15.6" screen, Windows 7 Home Premium) Black £299
or
Dell Inspiron 15 Sempron V120 2GB 250GB Windows 7 15.6" Laptop Black £279
sorry to be a pain,I just can't seem to decide. All opinions and suggestions appreciated(except sarky ones of course :P)Assalamu alaikum. May Allahs blessings be upon you0 -
I would put in another shout for the HP direction, I personally think HP and Compaq are making some of the best machines about and would recommend considering a netbook. My next personal machine is likely to be an HP mini netbook of some sort.0

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii again, just to let you know I have finally got around to ordering the Lenovo from Amazon. #excited#.
Only problem is I don't have a clue about the internet connection, atm I'm using my desktop on a boradband modem which is 7years old!THANKS ALL! xxxxxxxxxAssalamu alaikum. May Allahs blessings be upon you0 -
You will either need an ethernet cable to link the laptop to the broadband modem, or to get a WiFi modem from your Broadband provider. The laptop itself should have the capability to recieve the signal, but the modem will need to be changed/altered to be able to send one!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. A netbook has a small screen, typically 10'' measured diagonally, and small keys on the keyboard.0
