Additional cardholder on IVA/bankruptcy

Hi all!

I'm on a DMP at present and have been exploring the idea of an IVA (as well as discussing the more drastic route of bankruptcy).

My problem debt is an additional cardholder. I am the additional cardholder to my mum's credit card and I know full well I am not legally liable for the debt. However I have a moral obligation to repay her in full.

Has anyone heard or know of any circumstances where such a "private" or "non-priority" debt has been included on an IVA or BR???

Cheers all in advance!

    hi

sorry but this will not be taken into consideration

if you have any "spare cash" each month after you allowance you can use this as you please, so if that means paying your mum back well that is up to you x

    Curly is correct,

You are not allowed to show any favouritisim betwean creditors under IVA and definetley not BR.

I know its because its a rel but try and make a private agreement and pay what you can back from any spare or surplus you have.

In a word, no. The debt is not legally yours.

You can't pay her back official under the IVA or BR.

However, many people in similar circumstances have used any surplus per month that they might end up with to 'discretely' pay back something like this.
