Mini cash ISA linked to offset

Cheers JD.
Well, it's just that the £27K in the ISA ideally shouldn't be touched at all whereas ordinary savings can and maybe forgoing £200 interest a year is worth it for greater returns on equities over the long run.
I got it wrong about the Abbey, I just rang them - yes, they close the savings account, but you do have the option of accessing the funds as drawdown if you wish.0 -
Jamesd,
By offsettign my ISA and not not ruducing my payments to the mortgage i have cut 10 year of the term, I am saving more on my mortgage then my ISA would pay at present as my isa is only 4.4% , Yes you are correct that I could get better But in my personnal circs this is the best for me.
As a note the isa is in most likely going to be used in the next 2 years as I will be buying a second property and as such will need thsi money,
Another fact is that due to the offset my standered monthly payment is actualy meaning that im paying 100% extra off the mortgage eg 1 months standerd payment is takign of 1 month payment + 1 month capital I left thsi to run for 5 years the mortgage will be paid of.
I can say that not everyone does the "MSE" best but the MSE best isnt always correct for everyone. If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
