Changed bank account for DMP - wrongly advised! :-(

I've been trying to sort myself out and do things properly. I took advise from CCCS before opening a new bank account ahead of starting my DMP. Found out today I was wrongly advised. I was told Natwest would be ok, but turns out it isn't as I've now been told they could take money from my account for my debt with my MINT CC. I'm so upset and frustrated and feel sick! I've been to Barclays today to make an appointment for Friday to open an account. But what if they won't let me now I have a DMP up and running?! Things feel pretty bad right now ....

Does anyone know what the chances are that I WILL able to open a new account so soon after opening one with Natwest??

You should be ok.

It's always worth finding out which lenders are related to which.
BOS for example, is part of Lloyds...you get the drift....;)

You are right, I knew MINT was an RBS card which is why is rang to check whether NatWest bank would be ok. I was told there was no problem and stupidly I believed that the woman I spoke to would know. But on my DMP account it says Natwest card not MINT. At least I did find out ... and next time I will go with my inital instinct.

Basic bank accounts do not require a credit check, so as long as you get one of these, you are OK.
