What amount was mentioned at the interview and did you get a letter when they offered you the position. In your contract does it mention anything regarding pro rata after the £***.00 pa
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

So, you thought you were working for (say) £20,000 per annum part time, but really your employer was offering you £10,000... That's quite something to get wrong! Did you not wonder why the job appeared to pay that well...

Have you got evidence of the rate you say you were offered, other than the contract itself? (and why are they asking you for a copy anyway - don't they have one??)
  • I have it mention in the letter that it came with the contract, that i was getting ??? per annum pro rota. But my boss wants to send a photocopy of my contract to Head office to question it?

  • You signed a contract stating what you were getting paid. Therefore you are to be paid that. If they wish to change your terms and conditions they should inform you, if it includes a pay cut then i suspect serious stuff going on.
I would get onto your union straight away!

  • Photocopy it yourself and give the photocopy to your manager, they want it to distory it, thats what I think.

Be realistic, I don't know what you do, but do you really think you are doing a job which would be paying 40k if you were full time? If the answer is yes, then maybe you have a case, but if it's no then you probably can't risk arguing too much.

Don't forget that at the moment, you have no protection for 2 years, they can decide to let you go at any time.

Sorry, I still don't quite understand what you are saying happened here - does the letter say something different to the contract itself??

If it says £xx pro rata than that means you rate will be reduced to the fraction of the normal working week you actually work...

It seems that you didn't undertand the meaning of 'Pro Rata' and therefore the company are not at fault as they are paying you the agreed amount. Unfortunately you were unclear as to what that amount was.
