Where to stay in London

Can anyone reccomend a hotel/apartment in London close to or in the west end for 2 adults & 2 teenagers, 3 nights at easter! Needs to be clean & affordable, doesn't need to be extravagant

Have you any Tesco vouchers ?
We always use ours when stayng in London, last two trips have been London Ramada Hyde Park last summer for Bon Jovi gig (you should appreciate that) & Best Western Kensington the other week for the Manics.
Both 4* hotels & the Hyde park hotel booked out at £422 but with £100 tesco vouchers only cost us £22 for 3 nights B&B

We travelled with a child last year and stayed in Premeir inn, county Hall. perfect for us as it has the aquaruim, McD's in the County Hall and the london Eye on the doorstep.

  • Would london at easter (considering the royal wedding and the extented bank holidays) not be quite expensive?

Previously i have stayed at the Hilton Metropole. I found that it was within walking distance to Hyde Park (about 15 minutes) and very convenient to the tube.
  • Easy Hotel, there clean, small, basic, in good locations, and a bargin.

Me and my Girlfriend love them.

  • We always use laterooms, www.laterooms.com and have got some great deals on there! You can narrow the search to things like hotels with carparks or hotels near the tube station and you can read feedback from other users. Stayed at a great pub with rooms last year, the Hand & Flower, which was right across the road from one of the exhibition centres (can't remember which one), food was great, rooms were clean and we only paid something like £50 per night for the room, which I thought was great value for London.

We have had some problems though - one hotel booked close to the tube station, turned out to be close to a different tube station and we had to change! and another while very clean and absoloutely fine was really more of a hostel which was not what it said on the site. However we did have a very good time in the hotel/hostel and met loads of interesting travellers! Best deals we ever got on the site were the Glasgow Thistle and a five star hotel in Cardiff which we got for £35 for the room for the night! There were roadworks blocking the main access road to the hotel and they couldn't fill the rooms, slight diversion for such a bargain was worth it! That one was also booked the same day as we stayed, and the hotel phoned us to guide us round the roadworks!
DJWW - cos we won't let it!

We stayed in the above place with 2 teenagers at Easter a few years ago and would DEFINITELY go back.

It really is only a 1 minute walk from Trafalgar Square/bus stops/tube station/Tesco Express and lots of shops and restaurants.
We had a one bedroomed apartment.

There was a seperate bathroom and a seperate toilet. The living room had a 'kitchen' facility which was located behind a sliding wardrobe type door...but it was excellent because it had EVERYTHING you could possibly want for a short break...microwave,dishwasher,kettle,toaster,fridge etc.

There are other locaions in London too.

I think we booked it directly via the Citadines web site once and through the late rooms site on another occassion, so shop around for prices.
