Mum's Redundancy

    2.5 years prior but now its over 3, but from the calulations of statuatory redundancy pay - she's only entitled to a max of £400 a week, which is actually a lot less than what she earns.....

    ok - is your mum under 41? If so then that sounds correct. If not she should get a little more (ie £600 per year of service) try the calculator below:

    Does she know if, before the company was taken over, more generous redundancy terms were in place? If so she may well be entitled to them under TUPE law.

    Also, do you think that (using the links I sent earlier) a proper consultation and selection was done? If not then that is an angle she could potentially use to dispute the redundancy .

    Finally to reiterate - she should be allowed reasonable time off to seek other employment
