Totally agree Graham. Suggests a degree of self-interest rather broader thinking to help their comrades. Trouble is New Labour is dead. Many have no knowledge of what Labours true values were when the party was founded.0 -
I also find these made up "funny" names rather childish and annoying.

What a cheek after all the one sided anti Labour dialogue that was was spewed out almost in perpetuity before the election on this board. I think you better get used to some stick handed out to Gideon the Mr 2-1 History man when it increasingly becomes apparent that the 'I am not for turning' rhetoric won't wash. In reality though you just came on here to cause an argument so well done.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

So now the Tories are in we should all stop complaining and leave them to it? I agree there is a great deal of self interest, I don't want my country going down the plug hole and taking me with it.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. In reality though you just came on here to cause an argument so well done.
If you read the other 2 threads previous to this with this same constant attack, you'll see I don't come for argument. I've quite a few times replied to anti coalition slurs with real data.
Data such as "under labour, fact is confidence didnt fall". I posted up a link and data from the confidence survey that showed confidence DID fall.
I asked for opinions. I asked for suggestions. I asked for party policy. I stated the parts the coalition probably haven't got correct. I talked about members of the coalition that are easily knocked down in argument.
Of course, it's all ignored. And were back to "fact, confidence did not fall under labour" - right after I have posted a link to the actual fact that it did.
I wasted loads of time trying to actually respond to various slurs on the coalition and ask WHY people were simply spouting, instead of suggesting other measures, or routes. In response, I merely got more slurs.
In response to MP's, I talked of Balls obvious failiures, but suggested other labour MPs who had my respect, and would be much better suited to the task in hand. I suggested Gove was a pompous idiot (I think he is). Of course, I've said something against labour, and therefore I'm a full blown tory through and through, desperate for the cuts to start and desperate to see the less wealthy suffer, without a single shred of compassion running through me (quoted). Doesn't matter if I've talked about both a labour politician being useless, and aldo a tory politician being useless....oh no, fact is, I've said something against labour, therefore I must burn.
How often does it have to be said that it's a coaltion, NOT the tories running the country? Never gets through.
If that's merely coming for argument, then I apologise, I got the whole "discussion" part wrong, and made the mistake of actually trying to look into everything that was being spouted, instead of merely joining in, blindly accusing political parties of anything I could think of.0 -
"Postpone some of the cuts", good idea.
The economy is not doing so well at the moment, so that last thing we need are spending cuts, as it will slow down economic growth.
OK. The question I'd like to ask, where has all this defecit come from ? Did we not have quite high economic growth from 2001 -2007 (HPI would have suggested that we did) ? If so, why do we now have such a large defecit ? During the "good times", did we have a surplus ? I would have thought that we would have done, so where did the surplus go ?30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Ask why we have got debt NOW though.
