Its A Start

HI EVERYONE,

I've made a start....it's not a lot but it's a start.Here goes...
Bt..they have been charging me £14 pm for ages when I only get line rental from them...result now charging me correctly (£11pm) and £36.41 being paid into my current account
British gas(electric)...I was only in debit by £13.62 but they wanted to put DD from £32 up to £47...I phoned and complained that this wasn't warranted..they agreed to put it up to £35pm instead also I remembered when I rejoined them they had promised me a free months worth of electric to be shown on my !st bill...it wasn't on there..so followed that up...and got that credited on my bill...
I then said I was going to log onto their site and post my gas and electric readings every week as I didn't trust them to charge me the right amount especially about the same time as prices go up( it's their guess how many units you use otherwise)
I then logged onto their site to relise if you sign up to the click energy online gas and electric is cheaper plus you save £10 per year on paperless billing with duel fuel so signed up for this as can't work out hpow much fuel I use ...to use the fuel comparison sites as I still haven't had my gas bill...
Next I received my new quote from british gas for my central heating 400 contract and gas fire and cooker service...it was £36.97 pm...I rang them to cancel..when asked why I was only too pleased to tell her that after being with them for 4 years loyalty didn't seem to count...said that I was going to cancel then buy it online at a discount....she said hang on then...came back and said...ok then how does £26.39 sound then...I said ok and the deal was done.
I know this is not much I've done but am working on it!!
Also haven't spent a single penny on shopping this week...I am so proud!!
Sorry, if I bored you all...but it's nice to be something about my debt...I am hoping to be debt free before March 2008 as that is when I can remortgage...I know this is a challenge...but I am determined..

Thankyou everyone for your lovely replies...you are all so wonderful on here..since the other day I have received a cashback cheque from morgan stanley for £60..I have also received my new halifax credit card 0% for 9 months and transferred £2500 from morgan stanley onto it...I didn't owe that much on it but any little bits I buy up until then will be interest free..I am going to carry on using my morgan stanley card but will pay the full amount every month so I can still earn cashback:j

Some great savings there, well done. May not seem a lot saving a little here and there but add all those savings up over a year and that is quite a sum, without getting any less service for your money.:T :T
    keep up the good work

Thankyou everyone...I have learnt from you wonderful people on here...I,m feeling positive at the moment as I have spoken to all five of my children(all grown up)...3 of them have partners ...and I have a wonderful grandson who will be 2 in january...I have told them from next year I will be spending less at christmas and they were wonderful saying that I didn't have to spend anything on them as they are grown up...how sweet is that.....that will never happen but took the guilt away from me...I actually told them I had debt...they were very supportive..my dd is going to now keep an eye on her spending....so that was a result!!!:j :j
